You are sooo much more dedicated than I am :P
Apparently another option to sunlight is a tanning bed - also used to treat SAD :)
No sun for me though :0

yeah, i've heard that about tanning beds. i feel better on days that i go out walking but i really can't tell if it's the sunlight or exercise, i think it's just that if i'm out there i'm not at work. :p

saturday - walking 90 min
sunday - walking 30 min

on sunday i slept late, then got dressed in a rush trying to get in the walk to & from the grocery store before we had a thunderstorm (again, i'm really getting tired of them). i threw on clothes, put on a hoodie to keep off the rain that was starting already, got to the store, and took off the hoodie only to discover that i'd put on the shirt under it inside out! so i chose being hot over looking silly and put the hoodie back on.

walking - yesterday 90 min (mall) today 30 min (grocery store).

sometimes the way they organize grocery stores makes no sense but i enjoyed talking to the lady in the pet food aisle and exchanging tips on giving medications to cats (always useful to have something new to try) and another lady in the parking lot liked my "handy little gizmo" (shopping cart).

okay, time to dust off this thread and get my butt back on the stepper. :-P the last time i posted about it was very likely the last time i set foot on it and that was eight months ago. (yes i can still find it in the clutter. :p)

since the last time i posted i've continued the same amount of walking but nothing else - no stepper, stretching or strength training, and i really should do something. my excuse during the weeks before my eye surgery was "why bother now, i'm not allowed to exercise afterwards so i'll lose whatever progress i've made". i don't remember what the excuse was before that, maybe the usual "not enough time" but really i think i just didn't give it enough thought to come up with an excuse.

so what happened today? i got to the eye doctor's office early (because someone drove me, because i never get anywhere early :p) and i had time to pick up a magazine with a big article about finding the right gym and exercise routine and thought i really ought to get back to doing something again. no matter how much time i think i don't have, the words "more energy" always seem to motivate me to want to do something and that phrase in the article (which also said you have to work out for about a month to see a noticeable improvement) got me thinking that i really do want to get back to this. also at the end of the exam when my doctor said everything looks great and "no restrictions" it reminded me that maybe there were things he thought i might have wanted to do that i've been restricted from. ;)

my goal for today or tomorrow, whichever day i get to it, is just to get my butt back on the stepper and keep stepping for half an hour. no monitor, no heart rate check, just get used to doing it and then i'll monitor the workout next time.

today - half hour on stepper, minus the minute or so it took to rescue emily from inside the stepper box. she certainly found the empty box fast enough!
